Hi there,

I'm looking into purchasing my first ND filter, mainly for LE landscape photography. I initially thought that a variable filter would be perfect to test the waters but I've read mixed reviews. Would a "fixed" ND be a better choice?

I found the Cameron ND Fader Filter at my local camera store, but I could not find any online reviews or even a company website.

Has anyone had any experience with this filter?

I'm looking to put on my 18-55mm lens, it's worth noting that I will be upgrading to a ultra wide angle lens within the next year so I don't want to spend over $100 for a ND filter for my kit lens. I've looked into the square filters and they are all beyond my budget, eventually I'd like to get the big stopper.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and recommendations.
