Hi I just bought a negative scanner for film. Question: does the scanner digitize the film negative. If so I may as well shoot digital...

There is no way to get it on your computer without 'digitizing' it.
If you want to avoid digital at all costs, you should have bought an enlarger instead of a scanner.
