What lens did you use? How far away where you? Did you burr the backgrounds with a photo software or is that the natural DOF?

I was using a Russian 500mm Reflex Lens.
I didn't add any effect in PS.
That's the real backgroud~

Wow, love 'em! I've just come back from the Australian round of MotoGP at Phillip Island. Unfortunately I was working so I didn't get as much chance as I'd like to take photographs of them.

I presume this is a local series?

These are awesome action shots. Fantastic colour and composition too.

The first two are my favorite, especially the second since I can see the face of the rider. Adds some humanity to the picture.

I am impressed with the depth of color and the clarity when combined with this DOF. The slight motion in the blurred background really makes the pictures quite attractive.

Always good to see your shots
Just a couple of questions in regards your shots. To me they appear to be handheld panned shot. Would this be correct? If so it explains the shaky blurred effect of the back ground. Not a bad thing but i am trying to improve on action shots and if i am getting this right, i must actually be learning something.
