Need help focusing.

I'm playing around with my Nikon N65. It has a 28-105mm Tamron AF lens. When I get close to anything, it won't focus on manual or auto. Is this a problem with lens compatibility or something lik aperture? Thanks.

I doubt there's a problem... you're probably just trying to focus before the lens's minimum focus distance. You can find the minimum focus distance written on the focus ring.

Yep that will be the issue.

Another thing to check is some lenses have a limit switch if this on then you will not be able to use the whole focus range. THe switch will limit you to either the distance end or the closeup end.
