I found a Sony product at a thriftstore. It looks very much like a camcorder but it seems to be a 35mm camera with an audio cassette.

There is no record for the cassette, a headphone jack, volume dial but no speakers.

Anyone have any ideas?

Seriously? No bloody clue without a picture.

Pictures added with some new info after I examined it more.

Sony V-3000.

Just out of curiosity I did a search for product reviews and the only thing I could find were a couple for sale on ebay, with no explanations under description. Went to the Sony Products site to check for a user manual, and there's nothing under that model designation.

It's what you get when the Borg assimilates a 35mm analog camera and a Walkman.

...that tries to look like a video camera.

Sony Walkman and it takes pictures, that's just odd enough to make it collectable.

And just when you thought you had seen it all, along comes this contraption

Solution looking for a problem?

Right up there with the famous Bass-o-matic:
