Need some advice about a wedding I did ...

No refund, you did your job. A little advice for future weds, tell them beforehand if they are late you'll do what you can, its their fault. By the way 20mins before the actual ceremony is better than normal over here, these are fast moving days, shoot shoot shoot.

Wedding planners: tell them to FO, you dont care what time the reception/ceremony is if its such an issue call it all off, the people have paid, its their day, they want your photographs, any issues about timing is down to them, a planner shouldn't expect it all their way, things go wrong and plans fall apart, at the end of the day they only have a scrap of paper and your shots to show for the massive expense of a wedding, get the shots.

The officiant lost nothing, he probably had another one to follow so did the important bit.

Most important I find is to be in control, never mind videographers planners ushers or any other attendants, speak loud n clear, dont shout, command your subjects, if your getting grief from anyone make it plain to the B & G that if they want their shots you can do without interferance from guests etc, if you need a break for drinks loo or whatever, tell everybody, do it and return.

Lastly, put your prices up, you might get a better class of clientele or at least those who value your work. H
