Hi Guys,

I am holding Nikon D5100 and having kit lens 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AF-S VR Lens.

I am a new comer to photography and steadily learning.

Currently I am looking to buy one zoom lens because now a days I am travelling to some wild life sanctuaries.

At my budget I am came across some lenses could you suggest me which one is the better one.

Before that I would like to add a point, Most of the times I will be using manual focus only rather than Auto focus.

Here are the list of lenses in my budget

NIKON AF- ZOOM-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G
Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Autofocus
SIGMA AF 70-300 MM F/4-5.6 DG MACRO
NIKON AF-S DX VR ZOOM-NIKKOR 55-200 f/4.5-5.6G
Tamron AF 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di-II
NIKON AF-S DX VR ZOOM-NIKKOR 55-300 f/4.5-5.6G

First of all I want to know which is compatible with my D5100 and then which is better one.
If you suggest me better than above please do. My budget is $200-400 and I am from India

Thanks in advance,
Goutham

I have the 55-300 and find it to be a good lens. I despise Tamrons and only have marginal respect for Sigmas. The 55-300 has a sweet spot of f/11 and is good to about 280mm. For delicate work, you'll want to utilize the manual focus mode. this image was shot with that lens yesterday: ISO 800 (late afternoon), f/4.5 @ 1/500 170mm
