Needing direction with lens option

This main issue with these longer lenses is the f/5.6 maximum f/stop over a good part of their zoom range; that f/stop really forces your hand in terms of shutter speeds and ISO levels. At lens length goes up, so does magnification of the subject, and any and all blurring is magnified also. So, do keep that in mind as you research lens options. Still, the 100-400 DOES give a lot of reach and the price is affordable. You mention a new camera body and a new lens: I say new lens first, for the long haul. BUT a new 800D would also be nice.
