Negative Scanning

Hi folks,

I'm considering buying myself a scanner for scanning negatives. but I'm concerned about the quality of the colour of the scans.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? A friend of mine has used the HP Scanjet G4010 to scan slides at work and he seems happy, but I don't think he's too worried about keeping colour true.

If anyone has recommendations please let me know!
