Imo, I think it is far too much space. There is nothing to look at here, the boat is too far in the distance to keep your attention. And aside from that the only thing that remotely grabs your attention is the white specs on the water in the foreground (gulls, whitecaps?)

Now on the flip side, I would think this image would work if there was something on the horizon, maybe islands or mountains in general.
