new born skin

I did a newborn shoot today and the babe was beautiful but has alot of patchiness (red) and scratches. I am healing, using blur and desaturating red. Is there any better ways to deal with newborn skin that anyone wants to share?

Convert to black & white...tell the parents that it's 'timeless'.

In a nutshell: Use a layer, blur the layer, add mask to layer, paint mask to leave blurred layer to come through and control the mask opacity to bring back some of the layer texture.

B & W is the way to go. It clears up soooooo much and most parents like it.
