New D800! and some star trails

I finally made the jump and bought the nikon D800! I am super thrilled with it. My first time out shooting with it last night and this is what I came home with.

What do you guys think? cc appreciated.

I was surprised how many stars showed up considering I was shooting pretty much in the middle of the city (Vancouver).
I'm not sure I like how "flat" the foreground is. I had to decide between having the north star in the image and shooting so the trees went into the distance rather then across the horizon. Did I make the right choice?
The north star also ended up a little close to the top of the frame, I would have like another half inch of space..

Firstly congrats on the new D800 am most jealous, I think the photo turned out rather well especially as you said you were in a city.

Personally I think the sky is too bright, which you can easily tone down in RAW.
