New from Minnesota

I'm new here, pretty new to photography and new to Minnesota. My wife, Jo and I moved to Minnesota from North Dakota just after Christmas and we're really liking Minnesota. We have 10 acres just a stone's throw from Big Swan Lake. I'm retired from the AF as an Electronics Tech and my son is a professional photographer in Wyoming. The reason I mention that is: He gave me a Canon 20 D that he'd "outgrown" along with a 75-300 lens, a 18-55 and a 28-105, a tripod, and a bunch of accessories. I'm new to photography, but I'm going to jump in and get wet. I sure hope I can get some help here. Besides my new photography hobby, I'm a ham radio operator, I like blacksmithing , fly fishing, canoeing and play banjo and mandolin. I really hope I can learn a lot from all of you here . I hope you'll have patience with my ignorance as I learn. Thanks in advance. Mike
