I found this forum while doing research on cameras a week ago and haven't been able to pull myself away. I still haven't purchased a camera but have already found a lot of info here and hope to be able to post some pics soon

Ha you too. right now I'm looking into picking up a used D40x, I've done some research and understand the limitations of the camera but financially and skill wise right now I think it will be ok

that sounds like a good plan. my friends is learning on a D40x's' right now. They bought each-other them for Christmas, and are having a ball, from what I can see its a great camera. A cool site to checkout if you haven't fully made up your mind, to compare cameras, is Camera Comparison - Snapsort
