Hi! I am just starting out in photography and was taking my sweet time doing so until my best friend asked me to shoot her wedding on the 29th of May! I am now scrambling and frantic to learn as much as possible before her wedding! (I realize she is just a tad bit crazy to ask an amateur to photograph her wedding!)

You should scope out the layout and lighting of the location/church/hall/reception area with your friend at the time of day the wedding is to take place and taking some test shots well before you have to tackle the job for real.

Also, there are lots of past threads from people in similar situations to you; I'd recommend searching them.
