Just wanted to say Hello. Not terribly new, just "notsogood". Figured I would join so I can actually figure out how to use a camera.

The user's manual is usually a good place to start.
After that, reading up on composition and exposure will get you pretty far. There are a number of sources available, both online and in libraries.
