Hello everyone

I'm looking for a new lens for my Canon Xti/400D. The two I'm considering are the sigma apo 50-150 f/2.8 and the tokina 50-135 f/2.8 pro DX AF. The Sigma has HSM Focusing and a little father range. But the tokina seems to get a little better reviews on image quality. I have found the sigma for about $100 less than the Tokina. The one thing pushing me away from the Tokina is the AF

Pentex version of the tokina has the ultra sonic focuing motor, but I'm not sure when it will be released or the price.

I plan on using this lens for My Kids (Dances, playing ect.) Portraits, Graduations and Weddings for a few of my friends.

Any Advise?

Thanks for looking :hail:

I've got a couple of Sigmas with the HSM focusing, and it's pretty fast and quiet. I don't have either one of those specific lenses, but I was also contemplating between Sigma and Tokina when I was buying my super wide zoom. I ended up getting the Sigma 10-20, and I'm very happy with it.
