Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hello- I've been trying to get into photography over the past few years with various p&s digitals. My current camera is a Sony DSC W30. I've been trying to get some advice on how to inprove my shots, so I have come here for help (DeviantArt just doesn't do it).

Sorry if these are too big

Welcome to the forum.

At first glance, your photos look pretty good. There are too many for a more in depth critique though. If you want more feed back, try posting images one at a time and letting us know more about what you did and what you were trying to do.

wow, great pictures. all of them are great quality and very interesting, a good variety. all except for number 6 which i think is kind of bland and lacking, doesn't fit with your other photos. And i know this is a shot in the dark, but is that bethlehem steel? are you in the lehigh valley?? that looks very close to bethlehem steel with the river there and everything

I really like #3, 7 & 9. It appears there was a train [?] passing in the background of number 6, wish the train was more visible because it would have given that shot a littl more oomph. Nice job though.

Yes it is Bethlehem Steel, in fact! Small world...I go to Moravian, so there are plenty of cool spots around town I go to-the river is one of them.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I think I will take Mike's advice and post some of them one at a time for some more critique

1, 2, & 4 (esp 2 & 4) are quite good.

The rest .. meh...

Personal favorites are 3, 4 and 8!

1- This one is alright. While the subject matter does stand out clearly, it is not particularly interesting in itself or in context. Perhaps getting in closer and looking for a new composition could bring out a whole new piece.

2- Much better! Strong composition. This one feels much more thought-out than your first.

3- One of my favorites. I love how well you have adapted the foreground to the background. There seem to be almost religious implications here and, although I am one of the last people who would like such a thing, how well you have pulled this together makes me happy.

4- Some of it seems just a tad too bright for my tastes. Probably just me. I still like it

8- Lovely. I particularly like the clouded sky in the background

Small world afterall. I got my engineering degree at Lehigh. My freshman dorm overlooked Bethlehem Steel. I used to stare out my windows at that place. Isn't it demolished yet? Moravian is on the good side of the river. Go on down to the south side and go to the Welcome Inn. I loved that place! Anyone over 16 can drink in there.

Columbus, any chance you'll go walk around the Lehigh campus and take some pics? Its hard for me to believe I haven't been there in 10 years.

maybe I'll head over there this weekend for you...:D

And Beth. Steel has been partially converted into apartments/a sports grill. They are going to begin building a casino there soon.....I'm not too happy about that.

Nice shots, I enjoy 3 & 2 the best but all are really nice.
