Well I do not have very much experience with Zenfolio I have heard of them but the price seems kind of steep. But if you have the money its worth a shot. One thing you could do is have a website built and spread your photos out to different free photo hosting sites. Link them to your site with a checkout method to buy the rights or just sell the photo cheaper and keep the rights. There is a blog feature where you can add forms to your blog such as secure checkout forms. They do cost money but I think its only a one time purchase for the form - Link that to your paypal and collect money that away.

Selling photos are hard yes indeed. Especially if you actually sell them through a company like zazzle - I think is one... These companies are very strict. Your photos HAVE to be unique other wise they will not allow you to sell them.

I hope I helped some

hello, i'm new here too.

i've been a zenfolio user for a few years now. it's a great service and definitely worth the money if you have the client base to back it up. they don't promote your site for you to a community like smugmug does (although i'm not convinced any of that extra sm traffic converts into sales) so you're pretty much on your own to get the word out to your clients. i love zenfolio's layouts, it's so easy to get a professional webpage in just a few minutes.

nice zf site. i've done some landscape business, but i mainly marketed my website to brides and the occasional family portrait. the couple of landscape shots i've sold online have been ordered by people i know or after shows where someone wanted a print in a specific size and wanted to wait until later to order. but it's luck, usually if you don't have it in stock at a show and they don't order on the spot they don't buy.
