The wife picked me up a Minolta Maxxum 9, anyone have one? I think I have a 28, and a 50 AF lens for it, not sure if compatible. She said it is clean, looks new. Just curious, I'm confused by all the models.

Seems to be a pattern now that you mentioned it. Oh boy....

I am confused. They have a Maxxum, Dynax, A9, A9000. Head spinning... are they all the same but differ in country?
Time to build some shelves to display all my stuff and for quick grabs.

Minolta Maxxum/Dynax/Alpha 9 and 7 are the most advanced film SLR cameras they made. Minolta had a habit of using different names depending on country/area the camera was sold in.
Sony Alpha A9 is digital full frame mirrorless.
The Maxxum 50mm f1.7 is not so great wide open ... the f/1.4 is better.
The 28mm f/2.8 is not bad.
