My eyes are drawn immediately to the background, where all of the light is. The leaf you're focused on is awful dark.

What were your thoughts when taking this photo?

Yeah, my initial reaction was that the leaf looks dead. I wish I could see the texture of the leaf a little more. It's got some cool veining going on.

Right now the bright sky is stealing the spotlight. The picture has really dark and really light areas with little in-between.

I was trying the super macro setting on my S1500. I always see slot of colour leaf shot but not too many b&w just wanted to mix it up and broaden my photographic outlook. Any tips are always welcomed and thanks for the ones so far
