New Photo Printer?

OK, so my old printer bought the farm. It's simply DOA with some "Bad Chip Heater" diagnostic coming out when I run a self test. I've been told it's 'that' time when you stop praying for a miracle in reviving it and when you go shop for another one.

What experience do any of you have with good quality photo printers? Epson or Canon? Models? I need your input badly...

I have used both Canon and Epson.They both produce quality prints.I had a few problems with the software interface on the Canon, but could not argue with its quality.
