Japanese Yen Camera, ca 1930

Essentially this would be an ideal replacement for the instax camera line. Going by dimensions its ALMOST sized as is for instax film,
Does anyone else think that a miniature size single sheet film camera would actually be interesting to the hipster crowd..

Or is instax the "closest" they can actually get to using film?

Instant film cameras would be a novelty market for those who like to play with such things. Its only advantage over a phone camera is you go directly from camera to hard copy. The disadvantage is also that you go from camera to hard copy, so you cannot email or message it directly to friends.

I can see grandkids at Christmas shooting holiday photos, then it ends up being discovered some years later at the bottom of at the toy box.

As for modifying the Yen camera to Instax film, it would be done for the challenge of doing it. I just adapted a old Agfa-Ansco 116 format box camera to shoot 120 format film for the same reason.

There are no hipsters in photography.....Just camera nerds and non-camera nerds. :)
