New to Photoshop - C&C greatly appreciated

Just recently got my hands on CS4 and trying to learn the ropes. Below are some of the first images Ive reworked. Lots of experimentation.

Some interesting blooms at the local butterfly garden.

B&W rendering of a picture of brain coral.

My friends daughter. This started as a really flat, crappy phone pic. I loved the moment but the exposure was disgusting.

Interesting moth. Shot last week on the back porch.

Eh, my first sunset. Looks surreal after minimal adj.

This monarch had just come out of its chrysalis and was drying its wings.

St. Pauls cathedral in Manhattan.

One of our cats, Vandit. Mr. Serious no?

I don't think the filters work too well on some of them - especially the baby girl, looks like she's got 2 fingers left.

Best image for me would be the #1 (blooms at butterfly garden) though.

Yeah, thats actually from a poor dodge job. I was going for a graphic novel look. Thats why it looks a little "sketchy".


I appreciate the comments. The learning curve has been steep to say the least.
