Just looking for some critiques... Im a complete newbie and still trying to learn the ropes... I really dont know much YET, but am willing to learn... Im going to post a few photos hoping for some advice on how to take better shots....

Please give us some information as to what you would like critiqued; composition, technical, etc...
 
I would have to say sharpen the image unless your going for the soft shot but with rusty old nail and wood presenting such good textures I would keep them in the best I could. Good DOF but I wish the nail and some of the closer wood where alot sharper. Try increasing the contrast just a little to get a dark black and some good solid whites

I also think a tighter crop... maybe some off the top and some off the bottom would help to tighten the viewer focus on your subject try a 5:7 ratio.
