Photos OK to edit
Well I took photography in high school, and I was always interested but never fully understood about lighting and pretty much gave up on it. It's been over 5 years now and decided to start up again and actually LEARN to light.

I'm a film production major and want to start my own business so I think it's about time I learn more about photography/film since making commercials/movies is basically revolved around shutter speeds, ISO, film, cameras, lens, etc!

Here is the site of a company that has long been a huge source of lighting equipment for cinematographers.... Lowel DV Lighting, Video Lighting, Photo Lighting, DV Lights, Video Lights, Photo Lights, Location Lights, HD Lighting, Green Screen, Fluorescent,LED, Lighting Kit

Lowell lights are quality products, and there is a wide range of modifiers and grip equipment that will work with their products. Look through their web site for some really great tutorials. Back in the late 1980's I took some commercial photography classes where we worked mostly with Lowel Tota-Lights and scrims and barndoors. That was before White Lighting flashes were really much of a factor, and studio flash units were VERY expensive, unlike today where they are cheap.
