NEWBIE!! NEEDS HELP!! : )

Hello to every one.I am In TN with the US ARMY HOOAH!!!!.....I just read up on as many cameras as possible. My budget is around 1500.00 I would like to start taking long range photos of every thing. Any sugestions from any one would be lovely as to what equipment would be good to start with.

Either Nikon or Canon (don't know much about other brands) with long lens (80-300).
For your budget, it shouldn't be a problem just lens won't be of the best kind, unless you looking into used equipment where you can get better glass for a bit less $.

I tell everyone that ask this same question is the best camera is the one you can afford. I bought my first camera used on-line.
