Newbie portrait shots

Took these pics of my friend when I was visiting Orlando a few weeks ago. I have a lot to learn regarding portrait photography...so...comments are definately welcome!

I think using my flash for some fill would helped in some of my pics.

The pictures are good overall to me. Good framing of the subject. You are right about the comment about using flash to brighten up the faces, but you probably could do some tweaking with a software program too if you have it. I like the fourth one, but wish there were less sky. The third one is also great for a close-up portrait.

Since my old brain sees portraits in 8x10 I like two with a little more light on her face.

haha that's a life size statue of a woman made entirely from Lego building blocks (we were in Downtown Disney)
