newbie question

Using digital camera to photograph model id's. The camera sits on a tripod. But yet the id's still do not come out clear. Any suggestions? How I can improve the clarity?

Make sure that it is focusing on the object that you want to focus on and not some other object.

Model ID's? I am not understanding.

What kind of camera and lens are you using?

First off, make sure that your lens is at the minimum focus distance or a touch farther. If you are too close, it will not be able to focus properly.

If it is a more advanced SLR, you can, in some cameras, raise the mirror to reduce camera shake

On some cameras you can use the timer so that the camera has time to stop shaking if on an unstable tripod and you press the shutter manually.

Make sure the focusing is right, get enough light to rise the shutter speed, make sure the tripod is sturdy and all the knobs are tight and check if the lens is clean.
