I just got a Canon T3I with a 35-55mm and a 75-300mm. I was thinking of a 50mm F1.4 for my next lens would that be a good choice or not. If not what would be a good lens for a beginner photographer. Thanks for the help :)

Do you mean 18-55?
Don't stock up on another lens. Use what you have, it encompasses a lot of shooting scenarios. Use it until you find something that you need, which these two don't give you.

^^ That ^^ - what is it that your current glass can't do that you need/want to be able to do? Lenses (and other accessories) bought for the sake of buying them usually languish in the bottom of a bag once the "Ooohh... look Ma' a new toy!" phase has worn off. Figure out what you need and then find out what meets that need. What sort of shooting do you do most of?

I think a 50 / 1.8 (used from Craigs List) would be a good purchase.
It's not the greatest lens in the world but it's an inexpensive way to learn about DOF & Bokeh.

Lens choice is ENTIRELY based on what you want to photograph. You have NOT told us what you are going to photograph, therefore nobody here can give you a good lens recommendation.

Buy a lens because you need what that lens can give you, NOT because you just think you should have more lenses.
