Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hello everyone. I traded in my canon last week and finally got me a nikon d90. I love it. I have seen some really cool shots on the internet of car lights at night so I tried. I cant seem to get the clear focus of the shots that i see on the internet. Here is my setting for this shot.
Lense VR 18-105mm focal of shot 92mm
ISO 400
Shutter speed 3 secs.
Aperture F/36
Used a tripod with timer. Tripod is a cheap one that is not very sturdy. That is the next on my list of things to get.

Sorry i could not get the picture to show in the post. Dont know what i was doing wrong but i did get the link to work.

You have to use forum tags.

"["'s instead of "<"'s

"url=" "/url" instead of "a href=" "/a" You don't need quotes around the URLs and "img" "/img" tags instead of one "<img src="

Well Thanks Village idiot. I tried again, but it still not quite right. I copied the html code from photobucket this time. Is that the right code?

No, you want the forum code:

Add a ] to the end to make that work.

f36? You're sure? The photo doesn't look like it...

But it's not too bad, only are 3 seconds too short for nice light trails. You need more time. I am surprised you got all these lights at such "short" shutter speed at such tiny aperture, though.

Do focus manually, by all means. The Auto focus usually gets all irritated at night.

Thanks Stella, I finally got it. appreciate the help. And yes LaFoto it was an f/36 i doubled checked to make sure and i will try manually focusing next time with a longer shutter speed. Thanks to all.........signed Randall
