Hi Everyone,

I was walking in a park yesterday in Calgary downtown and saw a beautiful Full Moon rising. It was a beautiful scene and took my camera out.

I had nice tree in foreground, beautiful high rise buildings as a subject and full moon in background.

Problem: I was trying to capture longer exposure with this scene. I used F11 with ISO 100 and tried different shutter speed (1/200 to 25 sec). In all trial shots, moon was extremely bright and looked like a street bulb.

I had several very successful photographs of full moon (only as a subject) with manually underexposing moon. In yesterday's situation, I had beautiful high rise buildings in the frame.

Is there any suggestion for shooting downtown high rise building skyline in night with full moon?

Camera: Canon Rebel T3i / Lens EF-S 18-55mm

Thanks everyone in advance for your suggestions.

Cheers,

Purvesh

Take two shots? one exposed for the moon and one for the buildings and then blend them together.
