i love all things taken at night time. to me, night time is not a time, it is a place. everything changes at night so i love to record it. i like your picture a lot.

Wow, I really like this. The lighting on the steeple is perfect, and the moon could not have been in a better place for you. Nicely done.

Thanks for the comments, all. As for the moon being in just the right place... I had to put it there. It meant a trek around the parking lot to find a spot where I liked how it was positioned.

I'm interested to know what doesn't work right in this photo. What could be improved?

But... I would love to see a wider shot with the whole steeple though.

 

I like this photo alot, it is beautiful. The only thing that bothers me is having the moon so overexposed, it would be nice to see some surface detail. If you were shooting digital it would simply be a matter of taking two expousers and combining them later. Am not sure how it could be handled with film.

 

burn it in

 

Yeah, I'd have to try burning it in. I've tried my hand a bit at dodging here and there, but never with burning. I'll have to pull this one back out and play with it next time I go into the dark

 

That actually is the whole thing; the triangular light area at the bottom is the peak of the main roof. I do have a shot taken with a 50mm lens, I might try printing that one too, next time I go into the dark.
