Nikkor macro 60mm

Hello friends, I am looking in new lens Nikkor Macro 60mm. I will be using on Nikon d7000. You think I would be able to use it as portrait lens as well? and what crop effect I will have?

first off, i would get the tamron (cheaper and longer warranty). i got the tamron and for like 50 dollars more you can upgrade to the 90mm. i love it. just as crisp as nikon's. as far as portraits, it won't work well for FULL portraits.

How is the tamron "cheaper" when it depreciates so much faster then a nikon?
