Nikon 105mm F/2.8 Micro AF-S VR vs Sigma 105mm F/2.8 Macro

I rented a Nikon 105mm Micro last weekend and absolutely fell in love. I think the fact that it is versatile (in my opinion anyway) is a real plus. Took some macro shots as well as using it as a walkaround. Now, of course, the price is a little steep compared to the Sigma 105 which i heard alot of good things about. Does anyone have any experiences with both lenses?

Also, is it worth it to pick up the Nikon AF Micro Nikkor 105mm 1:2.8 D instead? I'm thinking I might like that VR when shooting portraits.

Overread the forum resident macro expert believes that all off market macro lenses are better if not just as good as the Nikon macro lenses.

So the sigma is just a good if not better!
