Hi. I love this forum!

I have a 3200 set in aperture mode. When I look through the viewfinder, only the left most dot blinks red when trying to autofocus. I've tried to reset it, but I'm not sure what is going on. I think I may be having trouble focusing it because of the problem.
Thanks!

You have the option to use a single focus point, you can choose/change which one you want to use.

Or you can choose to use all of them (the camera decides which one(s) it will use). Nikon calls this Auto Area Mode. I personally don't like it much because the camera is making a decisions about what it thinks I might want it to focus on. I'd much prefer to make the camera focus exactly where I want it to.

To change this, press the 'i' button to access your settings choosing screen. Navigate to the AF points/Area mode icon and press enter. This will allow you to change the mode.
But if you just want to change from the left point, to say, the centre point, you should be able to do that just by moving your directional pad (check your manual for more in-depth instructions).

By the way, being in aperture mode has nothing to do with your focus points/area mode. As long as you aren't in the green 'full auto' mode, you should be able to choose which way you want to focus.

Thank you very much. With your help, I was able to figure it out!
