Nikon 50mm 1.8D for D5100.

I've been looking at those and wondering just how well they work.

If you grew up in the film era when most SLRs had a split prism/microprism collar, you'd really appreciate them. Alas, most young'uns to day don't 'get it'.

I grew up with a Minolta SRT201 which has a prism/microprism center spot. I really miss it even with auto focus.

I fancy I know where you can buy a good used Katzeye for a D7000.

I agree that for the D5100 the 50 1.8G is a way better fit.
