Nikon 7900

I am quite new to photography. Now I am in no sense trying to go all out for this hobby/profession. I recently bought a Nikon 7900. I am quite satisfied with quality it has, my one question is. I have found that a lot of photos turn out well but to get the best result I need to up the exposure to +0.07, will this affect night shots? Also with this camera I tend to have a few to many blurred images, be it from sports shooting, to just your general Auto mode. Any advice?? Thanks in advance!!
