I am looking into buying the d600 and need to decide what lens/lenses to buy. I will be backpacking for 5 months and need a good, versatile lens. I am also really interested in a wide angle. Should I get just one lens that can give me all or ...? Suggestions on lenses please!!

With nothing more than what you've posted, I'd say get the 14-24, the 24-70 and 70-200. That ought to cover things.

I use Nikkor 24mm 2.8D and absolutely love the lens.

I just found a cool thing on nikons website. It's a lens simulator you pick the camera and lens and it will give you an estimated view in a few different scenes, if will at least give you an idea of what lenses you may want to take a closer look at, then from there check prices and reviews of said lenses. I would post a like but not so easy on the mobile app I'm on

If you're on a budget, consider the older 80-200 f2.8 (two ring) and of course... the 50mm f1.8d!!!

I like the 80-200mm option, but if it was one lens only I'd opt for my 24-70mm f2.8.

I see the OP did say lens/lenses. I'd pack my 80-200mm to go with my 24-70mm.
