Nikon D600?

Spend a little more and get a D800 and you'll have the best DSLR ever made. No brainer.

If I bought a D800 over my D600, I'd have to have bought one with about 10K shutter actuations and still spend about $1200 more, and then not have any money available to buy a lens for it.

I picked up the very similar D610..and I couldn't be happier. I shoot mainly concerts and music promotional shots, but will do family portraits and weddings to make the real money as well.

I added a vertical grip to it, and it feels great in the hands. Honestly, any FX Nikon is going to do a great job these days. The market is saturated with winners in both camps honestly.
