Nikon D7000 (And others) Camera control Android app's

Hey guys, so i was looking at some apps on Google Play and theres a couple for shutter release for my D7000 using the infared sensor (like on my Galaxy Note 3)

Does anyone know what else the Nikon cameras are capable of controlling with the IR sensor?

I was thinking of making an app for it that can control everything possible. I could make one for Canon also if needed, should be a fairly simple app.

Get my old CdTDroiD username out of the dusty box and get back into it lol

When I had the S4, the only thing I used the IR for was my TV. I'm not sure how strong the beam is, but I know my IR helis pitch a fit every time it's out in the sun.

Imagine how crazy the selfie kings and queens would go being able to take selfies with an SLR AND a smartphone!!! lol

The IR should be easy to do... I have a bunch of code i did for the Arduino (and PIC micro controllers) that triggered the flash on most Nikon and Canon DSLR's if you want it.. should be easy to convert over (just pm me).

As far as what you can do with IR... its basically just remote shutter control. Nothing else..

You can do a ton with WiFi..
