Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I have 2 old Nikon film cameras, an FG and an F80. Neither have been used for some time and are probably not worth anything. However I also have 3 lenses; a Nikon Series E 50mm, a Nikon AF Nikkor 28-80mm and a Tamron AF LD 28-200mm. The question is, can I use these lenses on a Nikon digital body or do I have to invest in a new lenses as well?

I guess a supplementary question would be, if I can reuse the lenses which Nikon digital camera would you recommend to a user who is purely an amateur?

many thanks,

D7000 from Nikon

You need a camera that has an internal AF-motor, like your F80 and an "AI" coupling ring like the FG. Nikon incorporates those in the middle to higher end cameras.

The D7000 has the features, is a "DX" format. This means the sensor is smaller than 35mm film, the "crop" is about 1.5x.

The D600 is "FX" format, same as 35mm.

It is ~$2,000.
