Nikon live view exposure??

I've been shooting with Nikon for 6 years. I've recently got more into video to go along with my photography. My issue is with the 4 cameras I've owned over the past 6 years, none of them can change the exposure in live view. I'm thinking about getting a Canon for my video stuff. Can Nikons not have the exposure changed in live view? Or was that just with the models I've had? Thanks!

You can do it installing an alternative firmware. I did it in my Nikon D5100 and I can record video manually.
