I just ordered a used SB-400 for light days.
I once owned one and I've missed it.
I sold mine back when I got my SB-800.
But when I want to "travel light" I can simply take only my D700 body with the 50mm 1.8d and the SB-400. Plain and simple, but I can bounce indoors.
Bam!!!

I grabbed one for peanuts now that it's been replaced.

Any love for the tiny SB-400?

I have an identical kit of D700, SB-400 and 50 1.8D! Though I cannot say it is "travel light" setup.

True, it's not "that light", but compared to me lugging my SB-800 and 28-70 f2.8 around (like I am today), it's a blessing, ha!

Cool. My travel light kit is an d90 w/o a grip and a prime.

D90 still rocks... I miss mine at times. One day, I'll grab another....

To be honest, I barely use it. I use my d700 more but still. When I go super light, my old d40 and a 35 1.8 fit in my jacket pocket. Haha

Love mine too...d5200, 35mm 1.8 and sb400 is my do anything travel light kit...and my circular polarizing filter...

I do like the SB400 for simple close shot, tis a very easy no fuss unit that is good at what it does.
