No .NEF Preview In PS CS4

I've been using PS CS4 for at least 3 years. All that time, I've had thumbnail previews of my .nef files. I prefer doing it that way because bridge eats up so much memory and my pc is slow as it is. I decided to reformat my hard drive this week to rejuvenate my old computer. I uninstalled my adobe suite beforehand. After reinstalling it, I don't get thumbnail previews of my raw files. What happened? Anybody have any guesses?

There is a CODEC that Nikon provides to allow some software to display the thumbnails of NEF files. My guess (and it's just that) is that CS4 requires that CODEC to be installed. It's free and can be downloaded from Here so even if it doesn't work you aren't out anything.

Thanks, Man! That worked. I must have installed some version of that at some point in the past and then deleted it when I wiped my hard drive. Anyway, thanks again!
