Noise filter in photoshop

I find the Photoshop CS2 reduce noise filter to be less effective than Noise Ninja. If you do alot of work with higher ISO's, such as wedding photography in dark churches, you get some noise. Noise Ninja gives you far more control. You can download it from http://www.picturecode.com or just read about it. Also, if you are shooting in a situation with high ISO's, you should really consider RAW format. It's so much easier to remove noise and have some quality left.

do you have a pdf of the manual for ninja?

also can you or anyone please explain exactly what noise is? thanks

Another option that some people on this forum have suggested is Neat Image. I don't know how it compares to Noise Ninja, but I did do some trial runs with it and it is significantly better and easier to use than the Photoshop filters.
