Noob here.

Hi - I just got a Panasonic DMC-FZ50S 10.1MP Lumix to replace a Sony Cybershot and I really like it so far. Most of my photos are of my young kids.

I know what I like and what looks good, but I am new to the terminology and have yet to jump into the manual settings, other than manual focus so far.

Does anyone do infant photography at people's homes? As well as using morning window light, what do you use to cut any shadows down?

My goal right now is to be able to take professional looking newborn photos for some friends in the next few months. I thought my own babys' photos came out fairly well with the old Sony, so I'm anxious to see what the new camera can do.
