noob...not even a photographer

Hi everyone, my name is Jenna. I'm not actually in the photography biz, but I do work in graphic and layout design and I'm finding that the more I know about photography the better I'll be able to work with the photos I am often given on assignments. I can do basic color/contrast corrections, stuff like that, but it would help to know more about the process even if I'm not quite ready for aperture! Anyhow, I have a few questions about a potential project I'll be working on that I'll post in another area, but I wanted to say hi.
