Was using my Daughter for a test subject and this is what I got...

Not really sure if I am using my lighting right or what but it looks like something less then decent.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Don't use the pop-up flash. If you have a flash gun, ceiling bounce or wall bounce.

I didn't use the pop up flash. I have a 3 light kit I was using.

you need to move her further from the backdrop light the backdrop and light her face along with her hair (from behind) Its hard to tell you exactlly where to place the lights without seeing your set up but there is to much light on her face giving that look of using pop up flash.
