So I have a Canon 6d 50mm 1.4 on it. YN560-II speedlight and the tt5 and the tt1 remotes. My flash will not go off.....off camera....is there something I am doing wrong? Any help would be great thanks

A little more info on how you have it setup / distance, flash exposure / compensation etc may help?

Of course the first, obvious question: Is everything connected correctly and are all the batteries fresh? Does the flash fire on it's own when you press the 'Test' button?

I'm giving 3 to 1 odds it's user error.

Just for conversation, tell us the EXACT steps you took to try this out, including the order in which you did them.

Did you update your firmware?

Are the batteries working in the TT5 - or even the TT1?
Do they sync up?
Are they on the right channel? etc etc

Also, have you turned the flash off on the camera? ;)

just some ideas - I'm sure you have it working by now!

I realize it's blatantly obvious and I hate to be that guy, but the query begs the question........

Have you RTFM that came with your flash unit? Often, the answer is somewhere within those pages.

It's an old'n but a good'n.

you guys scared away the OP ....

On a Nikon there is a "commander mode" for off camera flash. Check channels (1,2,3) and groups (A, B, C) for similarities, i.e.. set both camera and flash on the same channel or group.
